Langley Distance Team Handbook
Summer Training
Both new and returning cross country athletes should be training over the summer in order to prepare for the season. The Langley Distance Team Training Calendar above has specific training guidance for new and returning runners.
Langley XC will also host summer green day practices on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 9 July-3 August at various locations, those will be updated in the calendar as well.
We will also host an overnight Langley XC Team Camp from 15-17 August.
Official Practices
Official practices for Langley XC begin on Monday, 5 August at 7 a.m. at the Langley track. That day we will review athlete paperwork in order to ensure everyone is eligible to participate. Please bring the following items, or confirmation of their submission:
- A completed VHSL physical form dated after 1 May 2024. Send a copy of the form to langleyathletics@fcps.edu.
- Complete the Emergency Care form and bring a copy to practice.
- Register for Cross Country at the LHS athletics website https://langley-ar.rschooltoday.com/
- Follow the procedures to complete the mandatory online concussion program.
- Bring a full water bottle and a winning attitude to practice everyday.
Uniforms and Spirit Wear
These links will be available from 1 June-15 July in order to have the uniforms available for the season. We will open one more store during the first two weeks of practice.
Team Uniforms: The only required item is the singlet, all other items are optional.
Our supplier is having issues with uniform orders right now. We are working through the problem and will have a solution soon. The link to order will be posted here and emailed to the team.
